Thank You

thank you note

Greetings,

To all of the 2015 Parkinson Half Marathon and 5K event participants, volunteers and sponsors – “THANK YOU” on behalf of our family committee for making this event once again a huge success on such a beautiful day.  Although the final financial numbers are currently not available we anticipate the results will show between $35,000 to $40,000 contributions to APDA – WI Chapter.

The Parkinson’s Half Marathon and 5K event funding supports the APDA – WI Chapter, but the event means so much more.  The event is built on a foundation of family and friends love and fellowship, all coming together to make a difference.

There are so many examples of inspiration and love that make this event so rewarding.  Each year the event has shown this time and time again.  Every family and friend hour is volunteered, each coming with love and fellowship.

We are humbled, blessed, honored and grateful with your involvement in the event in your own way.  From all the families and friends who live with the disease on a daily basis, we say “THANK YOU” with all our hearts!

We look forward to 2016 and all our best to you and your loved ones!

Kindest Regards,

Dear Family and Friends,

The 2014 Parkinson Half Marathon and 5K event was once again extremely rewarding due to the love and dedication from those who make this possible.  Our 2014 results show that we increased our gross revenue by $13,000 from 2013 while our event costs increased only $266 over the same period.  These results are made possible by the dedicated volunteers and partners supporting the event.  As a result, we will generate over $42,000 for the APDA – WI Chapter this year.   The event’s financial outcome is outstanding and will have a huge positive impact on the ability of the APDA to help people-THANK YOU!

The Parkinson’s Half Marathon and 5K event funding supports the APDA – WI Chapter, but the event means so much more.  The event is built on a foundation of family/friends love and fellowship, all coming together to make a difference.

I am blessed with the opportunity to hear how families participate in memory or honor of loved ones.  It is amazing to see the smile and tears when they share their stories, all of which are a source of personal inspiration.   Here are a few examples:

The story of a man who recently lost his wife of over 30 years to PD (Parkinson’s Disease) and how he felt her spirit in his heart when he was participating in the event.  His family at his side and the pride on his face is something I will never forget.

The story of a newly diagnosed individual who doesn’t know what the future will bring living with PD.  Seeking to understand others PD life experiences and develop a plan to move forward.

The stories of families that come together to show how proud they are of their loved one living each day with PD.  Each case different and facing its own unique challenges.

The stories of many families that have loved ones travel long distances to show their support, love and encouragement.  The pride and appreciation that comes from this commitment is so visibly displayed.

There are so many examples of inspiration and love that make this event so rewarding.  Each year the event has grown and exceeded expectations, something we are all so proud to achieve.  Every family and friend hour is volunteered, each coming with love and fellowship.

I am humbled, blessed, honored and grateful with your involvement in the event in your own way.  From all the families and friends who live with the disease on a daily basis, we say “THANK YOU” with all our hearts!

All my best to you and your loved ones!

Bob
